SUMMARY:Phoenix Theatre presents Red Herring
DESCRIPTION:THE STORY: Three love stories\, a murder mystery\, and a nuclear espionage plot converge in this noir comedy about marriage and other explosive devices. It’s 1952: America’s on the verge of the H-bomb\, Dwight Eisenhower’s on the campaign trail\, and I Love Lucy’s on Monday nights. Meanwhile\, Senator Joe McCarthy’s daughter just got engaged to a Soviet spy\, and Boston detective Maggie Pelletier has to find out who dumped the dead guy in the Harbor—or else lose out on a honeymoon in Havana. A blunt-nosed\, sharp-eyed look at love and tying (and untying\, and retying) the knot.

SUMMARY:Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare 11/1 at 2:00PM
DESCRIPTION:Doors 1:30pm / Show 2:00pm \nFor centuries audiences have delighted in the twists and turns of Twelfth Night. It is packed full of wonderful and passionately love-obsessed characters. \nWhether it is Duke Orsino\, consumed by love; the Countess Olivia\, who has sworn off men\, but as soon as one comes along that she likes\, suddenly she becomes very interested\, or Viola who gets desperately tangled up in a love triangle and tries her best to get untangled. And that’s before we even talk about any of the comic subplots that involve yellow stockings\, a fake exorcism and a comic duel between two deeply unsuitable fighters. Twelfth Night is absolutely bursting with life\, life lessons and huge swathes of it feel like it could have been written yesterday. \nThe Lord Chamberlain’s Men is the UK’s premier all male theatre company – with direct links to the history of William Shakespeare – presenting Shakespeare’s work as he first saw it; all male\, with Elizabethan costume\, music and dance. Their productions champion authenticity while breathing fresh\, new life into this extraordinary play. It will ignite or rekindle a burning passion in the greatest playwright the world has ever seen.
