The Home Stretch

By Bonnie Schock

It’s starting to feel more like a theatre, less like a construction site, again here at the Sheldon. The pieces are coming together, and go time is just 15 days away on September 29.

The staff have all moved back home, box office is open on site for ticket sales (although the rest of the building remains closed to the public until the ribbon cutting), and we are on track for the start of our special Grand Reopening season.

Here are a few recent images of some of the details as they get wrapped up:

The all-new custom carpet is in place. It’s a bold, bright design, filled with life and drawn from the many beautiful architectural details throughout the building.

The third floor studio is nearing completion, with maple flooring in place. A few more touches still to complete to finish up this unique room with a view.

The human face of the Sheldon, high above the stage, is keeping watch over it all. She, too, is renewed and refreshed, and eyes will be upon her again soon.

New decorative finishes on the mezzanine level fit in so well that they already seem like they’ve always been there.

See you soon!
