Availability and Booking

All requests to use the theater must be submitted using our online form. Information that must be provided includes, contact information, venue selection, event type, event date, service requests etc. You will be contacted by a staff member promptly after submitting your form. Rental requests may request specific dates or may request a flexible date range. Events that have flexible date options are more likely to be accommodated.

Submitting a request does not guarantee space in the theater. A booking is registered once rental space availability has been confirmed and a contract has been signed. The Sheldon Theatre reserves the right to determine its own baseline of quality and competence allowing the institution to deny rental requests that do not comply with standards that contradict primary programming.

For best availability options we suggest submitting your request as soon as possible. 65 days in advance minimum.

If you need assistance filling out the form or have questions about the booking process, please contact Russell Johnson at rjohnson@sheldontheatre.org or (651) 388-8705.

Outside Food and Beverage

All food vendors regardless of their status must have a valid Food and Beverage License issued by the Minnesota Department of Health. You, as the applicant, are responsible for verifying that all vendors providing food or beverage during your event have obtained the proper license.

Food and Beverage Licenses can be obtained by contacting the Minnesota Department of Health at: (651)201-4500.

If the event includes the distribution of alcohol, the Lessee must either 1) Provide house liquor free of charge or 2) Acquire an on sale temporary liquor license as well as provide vending personnel.
